Getting up to speed with Infor’s April 2026 Release

8 MIN READ

April 23, 2026

As an Infor user, bi-annual releases won’t come as a surprise. But each release still brings a set of changes that can impact system performance, workflows, and day-to-day operations. As your teams get up to speed with the April 2026 release, it helps to understand which updates matter most to your business, and how best to prepare for them.

In this blog, we highlight some of the key updates from the April 2026 release, walk you through how our release analysis agent helps narrow down what’s relevant to your environment, and explore how Fortest, our AI-powered automated regression testing tool, can monitor user journeys, automate script generation, and ensure your system is tested end-to-end, securely.

If you would like to see Fortest in action, explore our latest webinar covering Infor’s releases and Fortest’s capabilities, complete with a live demo.

A closer look at the key updates in the April 2026 release

1. Your new digital co-workers: Industry AI agents

The biggest shift in this release is the move toward an agent-driven ERP. Instead of manually clicking through dozens of screens to complete a task, Infor is introducing AI agents that can act autonomously to help manage complex processes.

  • What this means for you: These agents act like specialized digital assistants for different departments such as supply chain, finance, or customer service.
  • The GenAI Assistant: A new AI side panel will be available across the system, allowing you to ask questions in plain English and get immediate help or data insights.

2. A system built specifically for you

Infor is moving away from a “one-size-fits-all” software. The April release introduces Experience Designer Applications, which are designed to improve productivity by offering a cleaner, more focused user interface.

  • Tailored workspaces: You will now have access to workspaces built specifically for your job role, ensuring you only see the information and tools you actually need.
  • Building charts: Through a new GenAI Visualization Builder, you no longer need to be a data expert to create reports. You can simply use natural language to describe the chart you want, and the AI will build it for you.

3. Business with a purpose: The ESG launch

Modern companies are now required to track their impact on the world, and Infor is making this much easier with the launch of the Strategy Planning and Execution (SPE) module.

  • Sustainability reporting: This tool helps businesses track their Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) goals. It includes pre-built templates for international reporting standards, making it easier to stay compliant without the paperwork.

4. Key practical “Disruptors” in the system

Several practical updates are set to change how core business functions operate:

  • Real-time shipping costs: A new integration allows you to “shop” for the best freight rates in real-time directly while you are entering a customer order, potentially saving significant money on logistics.
  • Smarter inventory tracking: The new Outbound Tracking ID simplifies how items are moved through a warehouse. It allows for “bulk tracking” while items are inside the building but requires specific “serialized” tracking only when they are shipped to the customer, reducing unnecessary data entry.
  • Automated finance: For finance teams, new value+ solutions automate the process of retrieving and registering invoices, while new “Credit Note Matching” helps speed up payment proposals.

Are there changes that will impact certain industries in particular?

1. Fashion and apparel

The fashion industry receives some of the most specialized updates in this release, particularly within the Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) tools used to design and develop new styles.

  • New style color board: Designers can now organize style colorways by theme, collection, or “delivery drops” (e.g., a Spring/Summer collection), making it much easier to manage large product lines.
  • Measurement defect tracking: A new feature allows quality teams to track specific measurement errors during bulk production. This helps brands decide whether to pass, fail, or hold a shipment based on how well it matches the original design.
  • Smarter integration: New capabilities make it safer and faster to upload data from third-party design apps into Infor’s system without risking data errors or system crashes.

2. Food & beverage, chemicals, and manufacturing

For industries where safety and traceability are critical, Infor is introducing tools to manage product recalls more effectively.

  • Automated recall management: A new product recall widget uses Robotic Process Automation (RPA) to quickly identify which customers received an affected item and automatically create “recall issues” for each one.
  • Track and trace: Enhanced “track and trace” capabilities help companies comply with growing regulations regarding food safety and consumer transparency.

3. FDA-regulated industries (life sciences & healthcare)

Businesses that must follow strict FDA regulations (like medical devices or pharmaceutical companies) will see major improvements in digital compliance.

  • Electronic signatures (e-signatures): The system now supports e-signatures and electronic records for physical inventory tasks. This eliminates the need to print, hand-sign, and scan hundreds of pages of paperwork, helping companies meet FDA 21 CFR Part 11 requirements digitally.

4. Global finance (localized impact)

Infor is also rolling out updates to help companies stay compliant with the specific tax and reporting laws of different countries (Ex: France, Romania, and Colombia).

5. Distribution and warehousing

For the process and distribution industries, the update focuses on visibility and accuracy in the warehouse.

  • Lot-level reconciliation: Managers can now see exact mismatches between the warehouse system and the main business system at the “lot” (group of items) level. This makes it much faster to investigate why inventory numbers might be off.
  • Outbound tracking IDs: This release allows for “bulk tracking” while items are moving inside a warehouse, only requiring specific, individual tracking (serialization) at the moment they are shipped to the customer.

How can Fortest’s release management support you?

Managing large-scale ERP updates can be a manual and time-consuming effort for your team. Fortest, our AI-powered automated regression testing tool, includes a specialized Release Management agent designed to reduce this effort and support a smoother transition through each release cycle.

By reviewing extensive release documentation, providing relevant analysis, aligning updates with your system landscape, and delivering actionable insights, it significantly reduces the manual effort required, enabling teams to respond more efficiently and with greater confidence.

How can Fortest’s AI capabilities automate the entire testing workflow?

Intelligent interaction capture (Action Recorder & Code Generator)

For complex UI-based workflows, Fortest uses an intelligent “record-to-script” pipeline.

  • Action recorder: This captures real user interactions, DOM details, and element metadata directly from a browser window to produce a JSON metadata file.
  • Code generator: The AI then transforms these recordings into production-grade automation assets, including Page Objects, Test Data Objects (TDOs), and final test scripts. This ensures consistency across the entire testing framework.

Enterprise-grade security (Azure Key Vault)

To ensure the automated workflow is “release-ready” for large organizations, Fortest integrates with Azure Key Vault.

  • The action: It provides centralized secrets management and encrypted handling of credentials and sensitive configuration data. This ensures that as your AI-powered testing scales, your environment remains compliant and protected.

………………..

Infor’s April 2026 release signals a shift toward more intelligent, adaptive ERP systems, but with that innovation comes increased complexity. With Fortest’s AI-powered testing and release management capabilities, businesses can adopt new features with confidence, ensuring stability, speed, and continuous value from their Infor investment.

As you navigate the April release, it’s also an ideal time to consider your automation roadmap and begin preparing for upcoming cycles, setting the foundation for a more streamlined and efficient approach to future releases.

FAQ

Why are Infor’s bi-annual releases significant?
Infor’s bi-annual releases introduce a wide range of enhancements across functionality, user experience, compliance, and automation. These updates ensure that your ERP system remains aligned with evolving industry needs and technological advancements. Staying up to date helps businesses remain competitive, improve operational efficiency, and take advantage of innovations such as AI-driven capabilities and improved integrations.
What happens if you don’t have a proper plan for ERP releases?
Without a structured plan, ERP releases can lead to disruptions in business operations, broken workflows, and system inconsistencies. Teams may struggle to identify which updates are relevant, increasing the risk of missed changes or compliance gaps. This often results in reactive fixes, longer downtime, and increased manual effort, ultimately impacting productivity and user confidence in the system.
Why is automated regression testing important during release cycles?
Automated regression testing ensures that new updates do not negatively impact existing system functionality. As ERP systems evolve, manual testing becomes time-consuming and prone to errors. Automation helps validate critical business processes quickly and consistently, enabling faster release cycles while maintaining system stability. It also reduces risk by identifying issues early, before they affect end users.
How can Fortest’s AI capabilities support release management?
Fortest uses AI to analyze release updates, align them with your system landscape, and highlight areas that may require attention. It monitors user journeys, automates the creation and execution of test scripts, and improves the entire workflow. This reduces manual effort, improves accuracy, and helps organizations respond to changes more efficiently during each release cycle.
