Diverse people, cultures and perceptions across borders
Stemming from our core value of ‘Caring and Respect’, DE&I has been a powerful enabler of Fortude’s growth and performance over the years. DE&I is not confined to a specific department or practice; we are all responsible for it and play a key role in creating a culture where everybody belongs.
We are committed to achieving 50:50 Gender diversity by 2027/28 globally.

Our journey started in 2018 with an organization-wide survey; the result was ‘I am Diversity’ and ‘Better Together’ initiatives that educate our teams through awareness programs at regular intervals. Today, we’ve woven DE&I into our policies, whilst sensitizing employees to be reflective of our Fortude values. Throughout the years, we have launched various DEI initiatives, to foster an inclusive workplace for everyone; a place where ‘Everyone can grow, irrespective of their gender, background or identity’.
We are committed to providing a safe and respectful environment that is conducive to employees from diverse backgrounds, enabling them to be their very best selves, irrespective of and not limited to, race, colour, ethnicity, gender, age, sexual orientation, national origin, different types of thinking, world views, skill set, education, marital status, geographical upbringing or religion. .

Our ‘Better Together’ Initiatives
Events and Webinars
Since 2018, we have initiated or contributed to thought-provoking conversations by inviting experts from around the world to share their knowledge, experience and insight on best practices.
Awareness and Sensitization
To educate, and foster an inclusive work environment for all, we conduct internal awareness and sensitization sessions for all employees on DE&I periodically. Upon joining Fortude, all new recruits undergo the DEI Induction session – “Better Together” to ensure a smooth transition to Fortude.
Safe and Inclusive Policies
At Fortude, there is zero tolerance for Discrimination, Bullying and Harassment. We have implemented policies that establish this and ensure every individual feels comfortable to ‘speak up’ about any issues or grievances without fear of retaliation.
Partnerships
Fortude is proud to be a member of the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC) Network Sri Lanka and Women’ Empowerment Principles (WEP) Network, reinforcing our commitment to reinforcing our commitment to ethical business, sustainability, and gender equality. These partnerships enable us to align with global principles, collaborate with like-minded organizations, and participate in programs that drive inclusive growth and meaningful change.
Celebrating Cultural Diversity
As a global organization, we embrace employees from all walks of life and celebrate the vibrant and diverse cultures that they follow. Embracing cultural diversity isn’t just about recognizing differences – it’s about learning from each other, building meaningful connections and creating a space where everyone belongs.
Working Parents ERG
At Fortude, we recognize that balancing work and parenthood comes with unique challenges and rewards. Through our Working Parents Employee Resource Group (ERG), we educate and aim to create a supportive community where parents can connect, share experiences and access resources that help them thrive both at work and home.
Empowering the next generation of future leaders
We believe in shaping the future by investing in the leaders of tomorrow. Through our campus sessions and outreach programs, we equip students with the necessary skills, knowledge and confidence to transition from University to corporate.
