Senior Technical Lead – QA
Primary job role
Act as the primary overall Quality Engineering lead for large ERP implementations and coordinate with internal and external vendor teams. Create test strategies and test plans to mitigate program level quality risks, and propose and implement shift left testing strategies to ensure end-to-end quality. Identify possible automation areas and coordinate implementation to cut down cycle time and gain ROI. Provide quality-related updates and reports to program governance teams and customers.
Main duties/responsibilities
- Strong and creative analytical and decision-making skills, with attention to detail and focus on the end objective
- Oversee medium- to large-scale software projects, from initiation to production
- Provide guidance and encouragement to the QA team, and empower them to meet functional and nonfunctional requirements for medium- to large-scale projects
- QA process and report tailoring to align with project process and stakeholder expectations
- Innovation and introduction of smart tools, techniques, and ideas to benefit organizational and project level goals
- Ability to manage project responsibilities while taking up additional initiatives to support the growth of the Quality Engineering department and the organization
- Monitor project and team level risk management, including risk mitigation planning by providing proactive thought leadership
- Create, review, and justify QA effort estimations
- Create and present test plans for medium- to large-scale projects
- Review and maintain project documentation that adhere to organizational process quality standards
- Facilitate communication between different teams and the management to ensure that quality and process goals are met
- Facilitate defect triages and discussions with internal and external stakeholders
- Serve as an escalation point for testing-related issues
- Demonstrate a high level of intellectual curiosity and commitment to learn new domains and skills
- Team player with a positive attitude who can easily adapt to a rapidly changing environment
Mandatory Requirements
Educational Background:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or systems engineering
- ISTQB Certified Tester
Technical knowledge
- Knowledge of Quality Engineering methodologies and awareness of new technologies and developments
- Solid understanding of Testing Processes
- Expert knowledge of Test Management tools
- Excellent command of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Experience with Webservice Testing and related tools (e.g. SOAP UI)
- Solid understanding of automation testing tools (e.g. Selenium) would be an added advantage
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, information technology or an equivalent qualification
Professional Experience:
- 8+ years of experience Quality Assurance
- Strong project management and organizational skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong team management and empowerment skills
- Strong negotiation skills
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Experience in technical QA areas such as Automation, Performance and Security Testing
- Experience in ERP applications and integrations will be an added advantage
