Junior Accountant

Primary job role

To ensure that all the payments, including statutory payments, are processed on time without incurring any penalties or charges while ensuring zero deviation in financial reporting and financial hygiene.

Main duties and responsibilities

  • Uploading and processing all the foreign payments as per the process in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Preparing and reviewing monthly debit instructions for card payments in Fortude Australia, UK, Canada and the US.
  • Preparing and finalizing bank reconciliations for all Fortude entities.
  • Timely reimbursement of approved allowances and approved expenses incurred by employees in Fortude foreign entities.
  • Passing journal entries for monthly accounting within agreed timelines and clearing any remaining balance sheet schedule items in Fortude foreign entities.
  • Maintain accurate entity, regional and streamwise costs to compare budget and actuals (Foreign entities).
  • Assist the external auditors of all the foreign entities and provide necessary information to the auditors on time.
  • Raise Debit notes accurately on relevant reimbursements monthly.
  • Preparation of Business Activity Summary (BAS) calculation for Fortude Australia and reviewing other statutory payments.
  • Preparation of UK VAT schedule.
  • Preparing and monitoring Capex expenses and asset capitalization on time.
  • Providing and recording payroll entries of foreign entities.
  • Ensure compliance with finance-related ISO and ISMS process requirements.
  • Ensure the third party data processing vendor SLAs have been met and escalate deviations where necessary.
  • Providing instructions to record Debit Notes (DNs) shared by Accenture.

 

Other responsibilities

  • Follow up on payment completions with banks.
  • Ad hoc duties like communication with banks to add new signatories or any new process additions.
  • Provision of Information required for transfer price calculation on Fortude Australia and Fortude INC.
  • Sharing required information for CTC reconciliation.
  • Maintaining a tracker for per diems.
  • Ensure Australia payroll payments are accurately uploaded by the due date.
  • Ensure zero payment returns due to insufficient funds.

 

Experience

  • At least 3 years of experience in Accounting and Finance mainly in AP/AR and GL functions and financial reporting

 

Skills and Qualifications

  • Qualified or partly qualified in CA/CIMA/ACCA
  • Sound knowledge in Excel
  • Experience in working with an accounting package/System
